On the occasion of India's 78th Independence Day, a wave of patriotism swept across social media as several prominent celebrities, including Kangana Ranaut, Akshay Kumar, and Ayushmann Khurrana, took to their platforms to share heartfelt tributes.

On August 15, 2024, India proudly marks its 78th Independence Day, and Bollywood’s brightest stars took to social media to commemorate the occasion. Celebrities like Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Sunny Deol, and Anupam Kher joined in the celebrations, sharing heartfelt wishes and patriotic messages with their fans and fellow citizens, embracing the spirit of the day with great enthusiasm.

Actress and politician Kangana Ranaut marked Independence Day by sharing a heartfelt Instagram story, where she waved the Indian flag, simply captioning it, “Happy Independence Day.”

Anupam Kher also took to Instagram, posting a special message for his followers. His caption in Hindi read, “Congratulations and best wishes to all of you on Independence Day. For our freedom today, there are sacrifices made by many known and unknown people in our past. It is very important to remember them. Jai Hind. Jai Bharat!”

Akshay Kumar joined the celebration by posting a video of the tricolour on his Instagram Stories. He expressed his patriotic sentiments with the words, “May our flag always fly high and our hearts soar with pride.” followed by a Hindi message, “Salute to our freedom. Best wishes to all of you on Independence Day. Jai Hind,” and added, “Celebrating Freedom, Pride & Progress.”

Ayushmann Khurrana also extended his wishes on social media, sharing a post that read, “Celebrating our 78 years! There is still a lot of work left. We have come a long way, and we have a long way to go. Let’s keep building a stronger, brighter nation together. Jai Hind!”

Sunny Deol captured the essence of Independence Day by sharing a heartwarming image of a smiling child holding the Indian flag, accompanied by the message, “Happy Independence Day: Love your motherland. Remember those who fought for freedom. Be a good person, be a good Indian.”

Suniel Shetty echoed this patriotic spirit with his post, stating, “Proud to be born in Incredible India. Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind”

Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty marked India’s Independence Day with a special tribute to the nation’s brave Border Security Force (BSF) personnel. Joining them at a celebration organized by AajTak, Shetty honored their unwavering dedication and courage.

During her visit to the Indo-Pakistan border, Shetty was profoundly moved by the experience, which she later shared in an emotional Instagram post. “Not many have the chance to witness the courage and dedication of those who stand guard at the Indo-Pakistan border, protecting our nation with unwavering resolve. Seeing them in action is a humbling reminder of the sacrifices made every day, often unnoticed but never unappreciated,” she wrote.

Expressing her deep pride and gratitude, Shetty added, “I am deeply proud to be an Indian, and today, as we celebrate our Independence, I feel an overwhelming gratitude for these heroes. Happy Independence Day.”

This year’s Independence Day theme, ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’, highlights the government’s vision to transform India into a developed nation by 2047. The celebration also marked a significant milestone, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort for the 11th consecutive time, joining the ranks of former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi in achieving this honor.
