With Sahadev Kelvadi’s directorial Kenda nearing its release, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to make fans go gaga with the unwrapping of each detail. From the release of its teaser to the film getting selected for the esteemed Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival, the hype of the film is on another level. Fans were eagerly waiting to watch the trailer and mark their calendars to watch the highly anticipated film. Now, the wait is finally over! The makers have finally released the trailer and announced the release date of the film. At the trailer launch event, director Sahadev Kelavadi, producer Roopa Rao, music director Ritwik Kaikini, the film’s protagonist BV Bharath, Pranav Sridhar, senior theatre artist Vinod Ravindran, Satish Kumar, Pruthvi Banwasi, Deepti Nagendra, and others marked their attendance. The film is going to hit the silver screens on July 26.
Kenda is said to be a political satire that centres around a disenchanted youth in Bangalore. The film delves into the consequences of a pivotal decision of exploring disorganised crime through the eyes of lower-rung gangsters with big dreams. From crime to politics, the film portrays various social elements prevalent in the city.
The crime-thriller boasts an ensemble cast including BV Bharath, Gopalkrishna Deshpande, Pranav Sridhar, Vinod Susheela, Sachin Sreenath, Bindu Raxidi, Sharath Gowda, Satish Kumar, Archana Shyam, Pruthvi Banwasi, Deepti Nagendra, and others.
The Kannada film is produced by Roopa Rao under the banner of Ameyukti Studios. It is co-produced by Killjoy Films and Joy Jorgensen, and the cinematography of the film is handled by the director Sahadev Kelavadi himself. Akarsh HP, Rohit S, Rukmini Ravishankar, Nagaraj Deshpande, and Omkar Huddar were the assistant directors. Ritwik Kaikini, son of Jayanth Kaykini, has composed the music for the film. In addition to that, the lyrics of the song were penned by Jayanth Kaykini.
Kenda secured a spot at the 14th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival. The prestigious event, renowned for presenting a significant opportunity for filmmakers to showcase their craft and gain recognition on a national stage, unfolded in Delhi.
