While the internet melts talking about 'Titanic' reunion, we take a look of Kate and Leo’s real life bonding and journey:

Titanic: Audience got seduced to Kate and Leo on their first encounter as Romeo and Juliet on Cameron’s fictionalised account of Titanic. Their first scene together was the iconic sequence where Jack sketches a nude portrait of Rose. Reportedly, Cameron intended to capture the hesitance and nervousness, which was clearly an important reason for ignite the passion between the two couple.

Iconic couple: An extensive survey of moviegoers revealed that Kate and Leo were the most romantic on-screen couple of all times. The pair was voted ahead of a few cult pairs such as that of Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh from Gone With The Wind. The Titanic pair was ahead of Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman from 1942’s Casablanca, Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn in Adam’s Rib and also Julia Roberts and Richard Gere starrer Pretty Woman.

BFF for life: As the unsaid rule of showbiz goes, Kate and Leo too were linked romantically soon after the release of Titanic. But, the actors dated different people, despite sharing a strong bonding at a personal level. The reason of their strong friendship was their platonic relationship. It came as a surprise when Leonardo gave away Kate during her secret third wedding to Ned RocknRoll.

Fans reaction: More than a decade on, but, fans have been particularly possessive about Kate and Jack. The internet melted as people posted gushing messages on their reunion, Jane Fonda’s little gig attached to s GIF on Kate-Leo hugging was an indication on how the fans rejoiced.

Coming together: Despite the mega success of Titanic, Kate and Leo intentionally avoided films that showed them in romantic roles. The only time they came back together was in Sam Mandes directed Revolutionary Road, which was based on a novel by Richard Yates. Both DiCaprio and Winslet were reluctant to make films similar to Titanic because they knew that “it would be a fundamental mistake to try to repeat any of those themes." But, their momentary coming together at the Golden Globes has kicked up a storm, which is a clear indication that the audience want to see them together.
