In a candid interview, Mallika Sherawat revealed how co-stars Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar humorously fought for her attention on the set, making her feel important.

Actor Mallika Sherawat recently made her acting comeback in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri. This return to the silver screen after a long hiatus has given Mallika the opportunity to reflect on her cinematic journey. In a recent interview with Ranveer Allahbadia, she reminisced about her experience working with her Welcome co-stars Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar, revealing some fun moments from the set.

During the conversation, Mallika shared a humorous memory when shown a photo from the Welcome set, saying, “My two suitors, this picture explains my life. I had a blast shooting for Welcome, both Anil and Nana were fighting over me for real. They were trying to get my attention; imagine how important I felt! They are brilliant human beings and have amazing energies as actors.”

When asked if they anticipated the film’s iconic status, Mallika candidly responded, “We were shooting in Dubai, it was so hot that our makeup would keep melting, so no one was bothered thinking about the film’s fate. We all just wished to pack up soon and go back home.”

Welcome was a 2007 Bollywood comedy film directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. The film boasted a star-studded cast, including Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Mallika Sherawat, and Paresh Rawal. The story revolved around two crime lords, Uday Shetty (Nana Patekar) and Majnu Bhai (Anil Kapoor), who are determined to get Uday’s sister, Sanjana (Katrina Kaif), married into a respectable family. Things take a hilarious turn when she falls in love with Rajiv (Akshay Kumar), an ordinary guy with no criminal connections.

Welcome became a huge box office success, praised for its over-the-top comedy, witty dialogues, and memorable performances, especially by Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar, whose comic timing as bumbling gangsters was widely appreciated. The film was known for its entertaining plot and became one of the most iconic Bollywood comedies of the late 2000s. Its success led to a sequel, Welcome Back (2015), which featured most of the original cast members.
