Marvel Boss Kevin Feige Addresses Future Of Eternals: ‘No Immediate Plans’
Eternals ended with several unresolved questions, which fans hoped would be answered in the sequel, but it seems like there are no plans for part 2.

Following the dramatic conclusion of Avengers: Endgame, Eternals was the only Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film featuring a star studded cast, including Angelina Jolie and Richard Madden. Although the film had a strong plot, it failed to attract an audience. The movie ended with several unresolved questions, which fans hoped would be answered in future films. However, MCU moved on without addressing the loose ends, until the recent trailer of Captain America: Brave New World was released. In a blink and miss scene, a giant statue of Tiamut appears on screen, which the Eternals defeated and reignited fans’ expectations about seeing Eternals back in action.

However, it looks like the studio isn’t interested in taking their story forward with a sequel anytime soon. Marvel boss Kevin Feige, in an interview with Inverse, said, “There are no immediate plans for Eternals 2. There are and I think you’ve seen maybe in a trailer we’ve released recently, an acknowledgment of some of those events. Certain giant things came out of the ocean.”

Movies like Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Thor: Love and Thunder, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and The Marvels were released following the events of Eternals. However, every MCU project overlooked the giant villain popping out of the ocean.

Meanwhile, the movie itself left many unanswered questions, including the introduction of Harry Styles as Eros and Pip the Troll in the mid credit scene. Despite the excitement, there’s no update on their roles. The film also hinted at Kit Harington’s character Dane Whitman turning into the Black Knight, as the end credit scene featured him holding the Ebony Blade while Blade’s voice, played by Mahershala Ali, asked if he was ready. On the other hand, Gemma Chan’s character Sersi was last seen getting lifted into space by Arishem, leaving her fate uncertain.

Seems like Captain America: Brave New World may finally tackle the mystery of Tiamut’s presence. There are rumours suggesting that the giant statue could contain a rare mineral even more powerful than vibranium, which might become a key plot in the upcoming film. Meanwhile, Captain America 4 might also set the stage for the Thunderbolts, especially after revealing the first look at Red Hulk.

After the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, the Marvel team, led by Kevin Feige, is set to make an appearance at San Diego Comic Con’s iconic Hall H. Fans are hoping to get updates on the future of Eternals 2 and other thrilling MCU projects.
