The teaser of the long-awaited Lal Jr-directed Nadikar has arrived. The Malayalee star Tovino Thomas is the lead in the film. South star Mammootty released the teaser recently. Tovino Thomas will play the role of superstar named David Patika in the movie. He will be shown as a movie star who is at the pinnacle of his career. Soubin Shahir is also playing a major role in Nadikar. Bhavana will play the female lead in the movie. The teaser shows Tovino Thomas depicting a larger-than-life persona of a megastar, who lives carefree and unabashed life. The upbeat and intriguing trailer has been loved by the audience.

The film’s initial name was Nadikar Thilakam. This had to change after the name drew flak from veteran actor Sivaji Ganesan’s fans. The late South star was often referred to as Nadigar Thilagam for his versatile roles. The announcement of the name of Nadikar thus outraged the fans of Shivaji Ganeshan. Lal Jr changed the name of the film to Nadikar for the same reason.
Sivaji Ganesan’s son, Prabhu expressed his attachment to the movie. During the launch of the movie, Prabhu explained his emotions by saying, “To be honest, I came to know about the movie’s title after his fans called me up and told me they were shooting a film of this name in Kerala. I called up actor Lal to learn about the situation. I was surprised to know that his son was directing the movie. I requested to change the name of the film to something else. I never forced them. But their response touched me.”
The film’s shoot was completed earlier this year. Nadikar is Soubin Shahir and Tovino’s first film together. Lal Jr said in an interview, “ Over three years, we embarked on a thrilling adventure, shooting across 30 unique locations – from Dubai and Hyderabad, Kashmir, Munnar, and Kochi-spanning six months filled with over 100 days of captivating moments. In our journey, we encountered unexpected challenges, from artist injuries to navigating unpredictable weather and challenging terrains. The movie is oozing with talented actors from the industry. Actors like Dhyan Srinivasan, Anoop Menon, Shine Tom Chacko, Lal, Balu Varghese and Suresh Krishna are playing their important roles in the film.
