Nagarjuna Akkineni’s family is taking legal action against Konda Surekha regarding her claims. On Wednesday, the Telangana political leader claimed that KTR’s interference led to a rift in Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s relationship, resulting in a divorce. Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya, Amala Akkineni and Akhil Akkineni lashed out at these claims. Samantha Ruth Prabhu also shut down these allegations.
KTR issued a legal notice to Konda Surekha to withdraw her statement as well. While she has retracted the statement, CNN News18 has learnt that the Akkineni family is in the process of issuing a notice to her. A separate notice will also be issued to Minister Konda Surekha on behalf Telugu Film Chamber.
Nagarjuna confirmed the news with Times Now. “I am in Vizag. I am heading back to Hyderabad for action ahead,” he said before adding, “Oh, absolutely! A hundred percent. We can’t let this go. Not at all. I am rushing back with lawyers.”
About Konda Surekha’s Claims:
According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce,” Surekha was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.
The N-Convention Centre, owned by Nagarjuna, was partially demolished in August by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) for encroaching on lake buffer zones. Although Nagarjuna obtained a stay order from the High Court later that day, Surekha’s remarks have drawn attention for all the wrong reasons.

Taking to X, Nagarjuna condemned the allegations. He said, “I strongly condemn the comments of the Honorable Minister Mrs. Konda Surekha. Don’t use the lives of movie stars who stay away from politics to criticize your opponents. Please respect other people’s privacy. As a woman in a responsible position, your comments and accusations against our family are completely irrelevant and false. I request you to withdraw your comments immediately.”
Naga Chaitanya Reacts to Kondra Surekha’s Claims:
Naga Chaitanya also reacted to the claims. Chaitanya called the claims “ridiculous” and clarified the situation. “The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways.”
He continued, “It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults.” Chaitanya said that the rumours and gossip surrounding their divorce were baseless and out of line. “There have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family.”
Several stars such as Allu Arjun, Chiranjeevi and Nani stood up for the Akkineni family and Samantha.
