Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez first came to notice when she grooved on the song Dhanno in Housefull. She debuted with the film Aladin in 2009. It starred Sanjay Dutt, Riteish Deshmukh and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles. This movie did not meet the expected success. The first breakthrough for the actress came two years later with the film Murder 2. It was a major hit at the box office. After this, she was recognised as a star heroine in Bollywood as her three films were consecutive hits at the box office. After the sequel of Murder, the actress starred in Housefull2, Race 2 and Kick. However, with time the actress was unable to produce any consecutive hits. Despite this, do you know that Jacqueline Fernandez is one of those rare celebrities in the world who owns a private island?
Jacqueline Fernandez is not one of the highest-paid heroines in Bollywood. Her popularity receded due to consecutive flops at the box office. However, she may not have a financial balance at the box office when compared to actresses like Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Kareena Kapoor but she is the rare actress in Bollywood who owns a private island. As per media reports, Jacqueline Fernandez seems to have bought the island before signing Bollywood super hit films like Murder 2 and Housefull 2 followed by Race 2.
The actress has reportedly spent Rs 3 crores to purchase an island off the south coast of her hometown, Sri Lanka. It is not clear whether Jacqueline is looking to use the island as her private house or leased it for commercial purposes. The actress is reportedly planning to build a luxurious villa on her island. She bought the island in 2012.
Jacqueline Fernandez has had ups and downs in her film career. Her last few films have not been commercially successful at the box office. She was last seen in the film Cirkus which failed miserably at the box office. It starred Ranveer Singh in the double role and was directed by Rohit Shetty. Jacqueline is currently working in Akshay Kumar’s multi-starrer comedy film Welcome to the Jungle.
