South star Rajinikanth had a great run in recent times at the box office, with his film Jailer performing exceptionally well. After his success with Jailer, the ‘Thalaivar’ is all set to star in an upcoming film with renowned director, Lokesh Kanagaraj. The highly anticipated collaboration between the filmmaker and superstar is titled Coolie. As there has been a lot of anticipation among the fans, good news has been announced by the makers. It was noted that the makers and Rajinikanth kicked off the shooting of Coolie on July 5. It is the first collaboration between Lokesh Kanagaraj and Superstar Rajinikanth.
As the shooting of Rajinikanth’s Coolie began, fans are eagerly awaiting further information about the project. Announcing the commencement of the film, the makers shared the poster on their official social media platform, Instagram. The makers captioned the post, “Superstar Loki Sambhavam begins! ???? #Coolie shooting starts today.” After the poster was shared on Instagram, many people went to the comment section to express their excitement. One of the users wrote, “Finally! so excited.” Another user commented, “Thalaivar is back!!!”
Rajinikanth’s fans are particularly excited about the pairing with Lokesh Kanagaraj. He is known for his stylish action films like Vikram, Leo, and Kaithi. Fans are also expecting that Coolie might have cameos from characters from Kanagaraj’s other films. Adding to the excitement is the news of Rajinikanth reuniting with veteran actor Sathyaraj after 38 years. Their last on-screen collaboration was in the 1986 film Mr. Bharath.
Apart from Rajinikanth, it was recently confirmed that Shruti Haasan is all set to star in the film as the lead. Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the film’s soundtrack, marking his third collaboration with Rajinikanth after Jailer and the upcoming film Vettaiyan. Cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, known for his stunning visuals in films like Jagame Thandhiram and Bangalore Days, will be capturing the action and emotions of Coolie. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. Coolie is slated for a multilingual release in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
