Renukaswamy Murder Case: Actress Pavithra Gowda Pleads For Bail
The City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru heard Pavithra Gowda’s bail application on August 2 .

Kannada actress Pavithra Gowda, a friend of Darshan Thoogudeepa, is one of the prime accused in the murder case of the pharmacist, Renukaswamy. The actress pleaded with the court to grant bail which was heard in court and adjourned the matter to August 28. Senior advocate Tommy Sebastian argued on behalf of the actress; he reportedly stated that bail must be granted considering Pavithra Gowda to be a woman. On August 27, the City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru heard Pavithra Gowda’s bail application. Tommy Sebastian is representing the actress and submitted to the court that the petitioner is a woman and should be granted bail. The investigation in the murder case has been completed and the Forensic Science Laboratory reports have been received. Allegedly, Pavithra Gowda is accused of striking the deceased on the head with a slipper and supporting reports have also been obtained, as per the lawyer. The lawyer also pointed out that she is accused of even slapping Renukaswamy, but she could not be a part of the murder conspiracy.

Till now, the case is majorly based on voluntary statements of the accused and not a single eyewitness testimony. The lawyer argued that as per Darshan’s suggestion, his accomplice Pavan informed Raghavendra who along with his friend kidnapped Renuka Swamy. As per Tommy Sebastian, Pavithra Gowda told Pavan about the obscene messages she was receiving from Renukaswamy, who brought this to the Challenging Star’s attention and then they all planned to get the pharmacist. They took him to the shed and assaulted him. The lawyer claimed that Pavithra Gowda had no role in the murder and the police were making false accusations against her. It is yet to be determined whether it was a murder conspiracy or an accidental death.

After hearing Pavithra Gowda’s lawyer’s arguments, the court also heard the bail applications of other accused and postponed the hearing of four bail applications. Whether the actress will be granted bail or not is yet to be decided by the court. Pavithra Gowda’s mother and brother, who used to come through a special entry, tried to meet the actress but were not allowed to see her. After Darshan’s photos of getting royal treatment and lounging in the lawn area have gone viral, no one is allowed special entry now.
