Rupali Ganguly, renowned for her role as Monisha Singh in Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, has become a household name with her current hit show Anupamaa. The daughter of Anil Ganguly, a prominent director from the 1970s, Rupali now commands a vast fan base on social media. Recently, the actress shared a video lip-syncing to the popular Bollywood song Kehdoon Tumhe from the iconic movie Deewaar, directed by Yash Chopra and featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor. The video has since gone viral.
In the video, Rupali is seen seated on her balcony adorned in a white and blue floral printed dress, exuding elegance with minimal makeup and her hair untied. Holding a yellow flower, she lip-syncs to the timeless song, expressing the significance of words in conveying emotions. She writes, “I can understand the words of gestures, but the fun of the words expressed by words is something else, so tell me now.”

Following the video’s release, Rupali’s fans flooded the comment section with compliments and heart emojis. One user described her as “innocent and beautiful.” Kehdoon Tumhe, Ya Chup Rahun is a melodious duet by Asha Bhosale and Kishore Kumar, composed by RD Burman with lyrics by Sahir Ludhianvi.
Despite her current success, Rupali’s journey has been marked by struggles, even with a star-studded background. She reminisced about her early days in theatre, recalling her first play, Atma Katha at Prithvi Theatre, for which she was paid a mere Rs 50 and occasionally samosas. Presently, Rupali Ganguly shines in the lead role of Anupamaa, a show based on the Bengali series Sreemoyee. The ensemble cast includes Sudhanshu Pandey, Madalsa Sharma and Gaurav Khanna.
