Ajay Devgn has started shooting his next film Son of Sardar 2 from today. He even shared a video on his social handle. Comedy-drama has been in the news for a long time. Amid this a report is coming in that Sanjay Dutt has been removed from the film owing to his UK visa rejection. Mid-Day has reported that Ravi Kishan has replaced him. Mrunal Thakur will be seen as the female lead.
According to a report by Midday, Sanjay Dutt has been excluded from the film due to a rejected UK visa application linked to his past incarceration. The source disclosed that Dutt had previously faced difficulties securing a UK visa as well. The film is being filmed in Scotland.
The source also indicated that Sanjay Dutt’s visa issues might affect the filming of Housefull 5, which is scheduled to start shooting in London in September. When asked if producer Sajid Nadiadwala would need to find a replacement for Dutt, the source explained, “Sajid has chosen a wiser route. While the shooting with the cast begins in London, all of Sanju’s portions will be filmed in Mumbai. So, there are no issues on that front.”
Sanjay Dutt’s UK visa was rejected because of his 1993 case. He was detained under TADA and the Arms Act. Later, the actor was also found guilty of violating the Arms Act for possessing illegal firearms acquired from other individuals involved in the 1993 Bombay bombings.
Ajay Devgn recently took to his Instagram to announce the Muhurat of the film. Helmed by Vijay Kumar Arora, the film has an extensive shoot schedule in the UK, followed by India. Ajay shared a video with the caption, “The journey of #SonOfSardaar2 begins with prayers, blessings, and an amazing team.” In the video, Ajay could be seen offering prayers at a gurdwara while Mrunal Thakur was seen performing bhangra on stage.
The film will be directed by Vijay Kumar Arora and comes nearly 12 years after the original. The first film featured Ajay Devgn trying to win Sonakshi Sinha’s hand in marriage by trying to impress her older brother, played by Sanjay Dutt. However, as per reports, Sonakshi Sinha will not be a part of the sequel. A release date for the film is yet to be decided.
