Sreeleela’s career trajectory has been anything but consistent, moving up and down. Her breakthrough film Dhamala co-starring Ravi Teja and Jayaram was a huge blockbuster but her immediate follow-up films Skanda, Extra Ordinary Man and Guntur Kaaram failed to deliver. She had a hit in Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Bhagvanth Kesari but the entire limelight was stolen by Balayya.
Sreeleela needs a big hit in her career where she gets due recognition but it appears that she is being offered item numbers. If recent reports are to be believed, Sreeleela was offered an item song in a film led by a huge star but she turned it down.
According to a report, Sreeleela has refused an offer made by none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi to star in an item song in his upcoming and highly anticipated film, Vishwambhara. The report reveals that the makers of Vishwambhara extended a lucrative offer to the actress to star in a song, but she surprised everyone by turning it down. This decision is particularly notable given that Chiranjeevi’s upcoming movie is highly anticipated by fans.
Although the exact reason behind Sreeleela’s rejection hasn’t been disclosed, it is speculated that she may be choosing to be more selective with her roles, especially after several of her recent projects failed to succeed. It may also be possible that after the recent failures, the actress does not want to be typecast as an item song actress.
Sreeleela, born in the US to Indian-origin parents, has made a name for herself in the Telugu and Kannada film industries. She began her career as a child artist and took on her first lead role in the Kannada film Kiss in 2019. Following in her mother’s footsteps, she pursued MBBS alongside her acting career. In addition to her accomplishments in film, Sreeleela gained recognition for her philanthropic efforts, adopting two specially-abled children, Garu and Shobhitha, in 2022.
