Popular Kannada channel Star Suvarna is launching a new TV show titled Suvarna Gruha Mantri from this Monday. The show, hosted by Murali, aims to honour housewives by presenting them with gifts like silk sarees, gold and silver items. Contestants will also get valuable prizes if they involve their family and friends. The concept has already received positive response from the audience. Murali, who is popular for his work in Oggarane Dabbi, is making his debut on Star Suvarna with this show. Suvarna Gruha Mantri is designed to honour the work of women at home and provide them with a platform and recognition. The show will be aired from Monday to Saturday at 1 pm. It will offer a new and engaging format to the audience.
Murali earlier hosted the popular game show Super Dampati on Colors Super. Born in Bengaluru, Murali graduated from Seshadripuram Evening College and did a diploma in industrial training. “In 1992, I completed an acting and directing course and also got certificates in painting and other arts. I specialised in mime and formed a troupe for skits and plays with friends from my diploma course”, he shared in an interview.
Murali always had an inclination towards a career in television. “Over the years, I was in touch with 40,000 cable operators and curated a Dial a Song programme where people could ask for a song from any South Indian film and we would play it for them. This was the beginning of my journey into television. I was with Udaya TV when the programme started in 1994 and moved to Star TV in 1995”, he added.
Murali said that he was involved in all aspects of the channel for more than a decade, from production and distribution to content creation.
