'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' given PG-13 rating
All other ‘Star Wars’ films were released in PG ratings as the PG-13 rating was only created in 1984, after the release of the original ‘Star Wars’ trilogy.

Los Angeles: The upcoming seventh instalment of ‘Star Wars’ franchise has received PG-13 rating. It becomes the second movie in the series to receive a PG-13 rating following 2005's ‘Star Wars Episode III: Revenge f the Sith’, reported Aceshowbiz.

It has got the rating for content described as ‘sci-fi action violence.’ PG-13 is the default rating for mainstream blockbusters including this year's ‘Jurassic World’, ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’, ‘Furious 7’ and ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2’. In total, eight of this year's top 10 movies are rated PG-13.
