Sumanth's Mahendragiri Varahi To Clash With Ram Charan's Game Changer? What We Know
The makers of Mahendragiri Varahi said that the veteran actor Brahmanandam will also play an important role in their film.

Actor Sumanth Akkineni is looking forward to his upcoming film Mahendragiri Varahi directed by Santhossh Jagarlapudi. According to reports, the film will hit the screens during the Sankranti festival in January 2025. Sumanth’s film will clash with Ram Charan’s film Game Changer which will also be released at the big screens around the Sankranti.

Filmmaker Santhossh Jagarlapudi and producer Kalipu Madhu recently made a revelation about Mahendragiri Varahi. They said that the veteran actor Brahmanandam will also play an important role in their film. According to the filmmaker Santhossh, Brahmanandam liked the film’s script and agreed to act in it. Kalipu Madhu added that the film revolves around the story of the Varahi Ammavari shrine in Mahendragiri. Anup Rubens will compose the film’s music backed by Raja Shyamala Entertainments.

According to the reports, in Mahendragiri Varahi, Sumanth will appear in a new avatar. In an earlier interview with a portal, Sumanth shared his excitement about the project. The Mahendragiri Varahi actor revealed that his character in this film would explore shades of grey. According to him, he would showcase a dimension he hasn’t portrayed before. Filmmaker Krish, renowned for his impactful storytelling, shared the first trailer of the movie, generating buzz and anticipation among fans. Actor Vishwak Sen expressed his intrigue in a tweet, deeming the trailer interesting and extending best wishes to the entire team for their upcoming endeavour.

The trailer shows Sumanth walking through a jungle with a torch. While walking, he hears the voice of what seems to be like a tiger’s growl. He is initially frightened but continues to walk. However, he stops at once to see a sudden lighting in the sky. The trailer concludes with Sumanth watching Goddess Varahi in the sky.

Apart from Sumanth, Mahendragiri Varahi’s ensemble cast includes Meenakshi Goswami, Vennela Kishore, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Rajeev Kanakala, and Sathyasai Srinivas. Murali is credited as the film’s writer. In November 2023, the film’s team visited Sri Sarada Peetha in Visakhapatnam, where Sri Swaroopanandendra Saraswati Maharshi unveiled the film’s title. Producer Kalipu Madhu and M Subbareddy shared their enthusiasm, highlighting that Mahendragiri Varahi is the second film under the Rajashyamala Entertainments banner and is shaping up well.
