Tamil Actor-director Cheran To Make Malayalam Debut With Narivetta
Cheran tweeted about his Malayalam debut with Narivetta's poster, unveiled on Twitter on July 22.

Cheran, one of the prominent directors and actors in the Tamil film industry, is now all set to make his debut in the Malayalam cinema. He will act in the film Narivetta directed by Anuraj Manohar and penned by Abin Joseph. Cheran tweeted about his Malayalam debut with the Narivetta’s poster unveiled on Twitter on July 22, 2024.

The Autograph actor wrote the caption in Malayalam which loosely translated means,” Friends… First of all, a long-time wish has come true. I am acting in a Malayalam movie with the best actor Tovino Thomas directed by Anuraj Manohar, director of Ishq…As always I need your support and love. Thank you.” The poster shows something burning alongside a hut with the fire spreading through all the huts shown in the photograph. An aerial shot of the poster also shows a lot of people walking away from the hut. Besides Cheran and Tovino, Narivetta also stars an ensemble cast of actors Suraj Venjaramoodu, Arya Salim, Priyamvada Krishnan and Rini Udayakumar.

According to the DTNEXT, Narivetta will go on floors on July 26. Talking about this film, Cheran said,” “It’s great to be acting in a Malayalam film for the first time. Anuraj Manohar’s story and my role in it impressed me. It’s an extra joy to act with Tovino Thomas.”

Cheran is also looking forward to his next film as a director and writer, tentatively titled Kichcha 47. This film stars Kichcha Sudeep and the actress Srinidhi Shetty. The announcement was made on Sudeep’s 52nd birthday, by Sathya Jyothi Films, the banner bankrolling the project. The announcement poster shows an unidentified man, possibly Sudeep, with his hands and clothes smeared in blood. Details regarding the plot and cast remain unknown at the moment.

Some time back, there were rumours that this film had been shelved. A Twitter user shared this information writing that now Cheran is busy with a film starring Prabhu Deva and Kajol in lead roles. However, the 53 year-old-director rubbished this news calling it “wrong news”.

Cheran last directed the television mini-series Journey streaming on SONY LIV.
