One of the biggest names in South Indian cinema, Thalapathy Vijay is gearing up to start his political journey. Earlier this February, the actor launched his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, aiming to contest the 2026 Assembly elections. As per the latest updates, to officially start his political journey, the actor is planning to hold several conferences across the Tamil Nadu state to strengthen his public reach.
As per more reports, Vijay will also embark on a journey on foot, planned to continue across the state, to interact with the public. Furthermore, the actor’s party has scheduled a state conference, which will be held soon. It will be followed by four zonal conferences. The first meeting of the party is to be held in Trichy, reports stated.
For his state trip, the actor will reportedly visit 100 Assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu on foot. He aims to meet the public up, close and personal, as these constituencies connect the northern, southern, eastern and western parts of the state.
Since the formation and announcement of Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, no meeting has been held by the party members. There were some earlier reports, according to which a meeting was to be held in Madurai, on the occasion of the actor’s 50th birthday, but it was not conducted.
At the moment, Vijay is busy with the shoot of his upcoming GOAT, also known as the Greatest Of All Time. The film is being directed by Venkat Prabhu, who is also its writer. The cast includes Vijay, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary and more.
It is being produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh under the banner of AGS Entertainment. For music, the makers have roped in composer Yuvan Shankar Raja, the cinematographer is Siddhartha Nuni and the editing is being done by Venkat Raajen.GOAT is scheduled to be released on September 5.
