The much-awaited trailer for the Chiyaan Vikram-starrer Thangalaan is finally out. This upcoming Tamil film promises to be an intriguing historical action drama set in the 19th century in the Kolar Gold Mines. The film also served as a backdrop for the superhit Kannada franchise KGF. The film is directed by acclaimed director Pa Ranjith, who is popularly known for his projects like Sarpatta Parambarai, Kabali, and Kaala. The trailer, which was unveiled yesterday, brings forth a jaw-dropping performance, especially by Vikram and Malavika Mohanan. After a lot of delay, the movie is finally all set to hit the big screens on August 15, 2024, coinciding with Independence Day.
The trailer, featuring Chiyaan Vikram in the lead role, offers quite a distinct look into the world of Thangalaan. The trailer features the PS-1 actor donning the role of a fierce tribal leader who is helping the Britishers seek gold within their village mines. Things take a dark turn when the gold hunt earns them the wrath of an apparent sorceress, Aarathi, played brilliantly by Malavika Mohanan. The rest of the film seems to follow how Thangalaan has to face her with every strength he has in him.

Besides Thangalaan, Chiyaan Vikram is also busy shooting for his next movie, Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, directed by SU Arun Kumar. The movie also features actors Dushara Vijayan, SJ Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu (Tamil debut), and Siddique in the pivotal roles.
