'The Commitment Is Real': Ananya Panday Supports Kolkata Knight Riders From Vanity Van

Bollywood star Ananya Panday’s commitment to the Kolkata Knight Riders is quite visible from her recent Instagram Stories. Ananya has avidly supported the two-time IPL-winning franchise, attending multiple games of the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned squad. However, her schedule prevented her from being present at the Eden Gardens during Kolkata’s match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

This didn’t stop the actress from sharing a video to showcase her support for the franchise. In the video, Ananya could be seen streaming Kolkata’s match from her make-up room with the club’s theme song Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo playing in the background. In the clip, Ananya wrote, “The commitment is real…Even at work, Kolkata Knight Riders”.

It seems like Ananya Panday’s well wishes have worked out perfectly well for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The Shreyas Iyer-led side were able to keep the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at bay yesterday, securing a narrow one-run win yesterday, April 21. The epic clash between the two squads began with Bengaluru bowling first at the end of the toss. Kolkata wicketkeeper Phil Salt gave his team the perfect start, scoring a lightning-fast 14-ball 48 runs before losing his wicket to Mohammat Siraj.

Shreyas Iyer added a fifty in just 35 balls to spearhead the two-time champions to 222/6. In the second half, Bengaluru lost their star batter Virat Kohli to a controversial wicket. Next, Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar tried to rescue the game for the Bengaluru squad with half-centuries each. However, the three-time finalists were the victims of a run-out in the final ball of the game, resulting in a heartbreaking loss.

While Ananya Panday couldn’t make it to Kolkata Knight Riders’ game yesterday, she was present for the franchise’s match against a KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants. The Bollywood diva flew to the City of Joy to express her support for the two-time IPL winners. She even shared a video on Instagram, flaunting the joy of witnessing her squad win. Her reel featured a collage of glimpses including a snap alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s children Suhana Khan and AbRam. In the caption she wrote, “Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo. Winning at the Eden Gardens is the best feeling”.

As for the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned franchise has now won five of the seven matches they have played this season. They will be looking to add a sixth against the Punjab Kings on Friday this week.
