Horror movies have a separate fan base which Hollywood holds arguably the largest fan base. Here, let us talk about a film that can give you goosebumps. Released in 2002, under the direction of M. Night Shyamalan, Signs revolves around a series of activities claimed to be done by aliens.

The film tells the story of a former priest, Graham Hess – portrayed by Mel Gibson – who one day finds out some mysterious crop circles in his cornfield. Hess lived with his asthmatic son Morgan, his daughter Bo and his brother Merrill on an isolated farm in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The widower lost his faith in god and gave up his priesthood after his wife Collen lost her life in an accident.

While Hess goes to his field to investigate the strange signs he learns that all animals in the town are turning violent. He was forced to kill their dog as it tried to attack his daughter, Bo. Diving more deeply into the matter he finds out that such Crop circles have appeared in many places around the globe. As Hess investigates more into the matter he and his brother Merrill notice that they are being watched by a dark tall figure. When chased, the figure seemed to disappear from the field.

The film revolves around the theme of unity and to fight all odds as a family. The storyline takes us on a journey where the characters fight their struggles while confronting the unknown invaders who tried to attack them in many ways. As the movie goes on the suspense gets more intense as the family tries to protect themselves and unveil the mystery of the unknown creatures.

Signs received acclaim for its atmospheric climax and compelling storyline that keeps the viewers lured into the movie. Mel Gibson and Joaquin Phoenix also received massive appreciation from the fans for their strong performances on the screen. The film blends the flavours of science fiction along with emotions making it a great success.
