Filmmaker Karan Johar has always maintained that he will launch close friend, actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan, in Bollywood. In fact, there were rumours that SRK's boy would make his debut opposite Khushi Kapoor and that Karan and his production team had already started looking for interesting scripts for the two.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, when asked about Karan’s statement about him launching Aryan in Bollywood, Shah Rukh said, “It’s very sweet of them (his industry friends), and they have the right. If Aryan decides to be an actor, it will only be an honour for him to work with directors of that caliber. But I think he wants to be a film-maker. Aryan is studying to be a film-maker and a writer, while Suhana wants to be an actor. But, even if he wants to be a film-maker, he needs to study for another five to six years and not just the literal form of studying, but probably be an assistant to Karan after he finishes his film-making course.”
SRK added, “Aisa nahi hai ki tumhara baap actor hai toh set pe aake assistant director ban jao (Just because your father is an actor doesn't mean you'll directly come to a film set and become the assistant director). Similarly, Suhana should learn acting for another three to four years if she wants to be an actor. I know many of my industry friends feel my kids should start acting tomorrow. But it’ my belief that they shouldn’t start acting yet.”
On the work front, currently, Shah Rukh is busy promoting his upcoming film Zero which releases on December 21. Also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, the film celebrates the 'incompleteness in people'. Directed by Aanand L Rai, Shah Rukh plays the role of a vertically challenged man, named Baua Singh. While Katrina plays a popular actress battling alcoholism, Anushka reportedly essays the role of a wheelchair-bound scientist.
Apart from this, Shah Rukh will reportedly start working on Rakesh Sharma biopic, titled Saare Jahan Se Achcha soon.
