Vidyut Jammwal REVEALS Joining French Circus After Crakk Failure: 'I Lost A Lot Of Money'
Vidyut Jammwal opened up about the failure of Crakk and how it compelled him to join a French circus.

Actor Vidyut Jammwal shared insights on the financial challenges he faced with his recent film Crakk, which failed at the box office earlier this year. Despite incurring significant losses initially, he managed to recoup the losses within three months by sticking to his strategies and minimizing risks. One of his notable moves post the film’s failure was to immerse himself in learning from a French circus troupe.

In his discussion with Zoom, Vidyut openly acknowledged that Crakk didn’t perform as well as expected. The movie, released in February, generated approximately Rs 17 crore at the box office, falling short against its Rs 45 crore budget. This setback followed his previous film IB17, a spy thriller where Vidyut served as a co-producer, which also didn’t meet box office expectations, making Rs 29 crore with a budget of about Rs 40 crore.

He shared, “I lost a lot of money (because of Crakk’s failure). The most important thing for me was, how will I deal with it. With losing money comes a lot of advice. People who’ve lost money in the past and friends who really care about you… It was important for me to disconnect from all the advice. After the release of Crakk, I joined a French circus and spent about 14 days with these elite human beings.”

He added, “I spent time with this contortionist. A contortionist is someone who can make their bodies reach certain levels which are nearly impossible. So, when I’m watching a contortionist, in my head, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, how can somebody be like this’. I’m the smallest person in that room when I’m in a circus like that. I spent some time with those guys, and by the time I came back to Mumbai, everything had calmed down.”

Vidyut revealed that just three months post the box office disappointment of Crakk, he managed to clear his debts entirely. Reflecting on this period, he shared, “When I came back, I sat down and thought, ‘Okay, I’ve lost so many crores, now what do we do?’ And I have to tell you, in three months, I’m debt-free. It’s a miracle,” When inquired by friends about his turnaround, Vidyut simply mentioned that he refrained from stressing over the situation and implemented a well-thought-out game plan, the details of which he chose not to disclose.

In the directorial venture of Aditya Datt, the movie Crakk showcased a star-studded cast including Arjun Rampal, Nora Fatehi, and Amy Jackson. Despite the notable cast, the film faced a range of reviews from mixed to negative, prompting substantial edits for its release on streaming platforms and satellite television. Vidyut candidly acknowledged that upon viewing the theatrical version of the movie, he recognized a pacing issue, noting that it felt a bit slow-paced.
