Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia’s relationship is not a secret. The two are deeply in love with each other and never shy away from expressing the same. They often make public appearances together and drop mushy photos with one another on social media. But, at a time when most celebrities prefer to hide their relationship, why did Vijay and Tamannaah decide to go public?
In a recent interview, Vijay Varma talked about the same and shared that they announced their relationship because he did not want to ‘cage’ his feelings. “I think we were both aligned on the fact that if we like to spend time together and if we like each other, then there is no need to hide this. It takes a lot of effort to hide a relationship. You cannot go out together, your friends cannot click your photos. I don’t like such restrictions. It wasn’t like I wanted to be out there, but I just didn’t want to be caged. I didn’t want to cage my feelings,” Vijay told Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel.
However, the Darlings actor also mentioned that they do not make everything about their relationship, public. “I have over 5000 photos of both of us, but that’s nowhere on social media, because that’s for the both of us,” he said.
Vijay joked that there is a ‘bua’ inside everyone and therefore, everyone wants to know what is happening in an actor’s personal life. Asked if talks about his relationship is overshadowing his work, the actor explained, “Today, in our society, everybody is interested in other people’s lives. Sabke andar ek bua baithi hai who only wants to discuss this (relationships). This has become a disease, and you can’t do anything about it. I can’t change that. As far as my work is concerned, I do receive appreciation for my work after they released. I cannot deny that.”
Vijay Varma and Tamannaah Bhatia’s dating rumours first made headlines when the couple was spotted sharing a kiss in Goa at a New Year bash in 2023. The actress officially confirmed their relationship in June of the same year.
