The Telugu film industry’s two most powerful and influential families include the Nandamuri and the Konidela families, known to fans as the Mega family. Telugu star Chiranjeevi, along with his brothers, son and nephews have all been a part of the film industry. While Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan is a hugely successful star in the industry, his daughters Sushmitha and Sreeja have not opted for acting as a career.
However, that does not mean that they are not involved with the film industry. Sushmitha is a successful costume designer in films and has designed clothes for his father in several films. However, do you know that Sushmitha also almost became an actress and even started shooting for a film that is now shelved?
According to reports, Puri Jagannadh had initiated a project featuring Sushmitha as the heroine and Uday Kiran as the hero. The film had a promising start, and the team even completed the shooting for the first schedule. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, production came to an abrupt halt, leaving the film unfinished. The project faced obstacles that prevented it from being completed, and it has since remained in limbo.
Although there was no official statement given out regarding the shelving of the project, speculations say that the reason the film could not be made is because of the falling out of Sushmitha and Uday Kiran who broke off their engagement. Both were engaged to be married, but citing compatibility issues, both called off their marriage. Uday Kiran later married Vishishta and unfortunately, died from suicide in 2014.
Sushmitha is currently the costume designer for Chiranjeevi’s upcoming project Vishwambhara. It is a fantasy adventure action film, with supernatural elements. The story follows a legendary figure, a hero whose destiny is to rise against a powerful evil force that threatens the universe’s delicate balance.
