Actor Yami Gautam Dhar and filmmaker Aditya Dhar, who have been happily married for three years, reportedly expecting their first child. While the reports speculated that Yami is currently five and a half months pregnant, the actress confirmed the news during the trailer launch of her upcoming film Article 370. Yami opened up about her pregnancy while she was shooting for the same.

Addressing the press, Yami shared, “it’s ‘mentally taxing. Plus the firsts are always challenging. If you ask me about motherhood and everything coming together, I don’t know what I would’ve done if Aditya wasn’t by my side.”

She added that she felt ‘responsible as an actor’ to give her best to the film, “We took a lot of precautions. It wasn’t the time to tell everybody and was kept a secret while shooting. But luckily, I had only the talkie portions left to shoot. But I thank the doctors who monitored me secretly,” the actress stated.

Yami Gautam also recalled how her baby was part of this film. She said, “Most of the training and stunts were done (by the time I was pregnant). You want to be careful. It’s surreal my baby was a part of this (film), it was always two of us putting in the hard work. I was also inspired by my mother, I’ve seen her work through pregnancy. We Indian women are stronger than we give ourselves credit for.”

Yami had once opened up on her courtship. She had said, she and Aditya initially became close friends before their relationship developed and they fell in love. She claimed that their friendship began at the promotion of Uri and that they ultimately planned to marry after Covid in an intimate setting. In 2021, they exchanged vows in Yami’s native Himachal Pradesh in a small ceremony attended by only their immediate family.

Yami mentioned that she always knew what she wanted to wear and how she wanted to have her wedding. She values her heritage and customs as a person. She added that it had always been decided that she would be donning her mother’s sari, the dupatta that her nani had saved for her, and the pahadi nath that she and all of her other cousins had obtained years before. This is all that she desired as she wanted to feel the warmth of her traditions.
