Abhimanyu Easwaran Slams His Bat In Anger After Getting Out For 191 Runs In Irani Cup vs Mumbai – WATCH
Abhimanyu Easwaran was caught for 191 runs from 292 balls by Tanush Kotian on the first ball of the 103rd over bowled by Shams Mulani.

Abhimanyu Easwaran missed out on a well-deserving double century for the Rest of India on Friday (October 4) in the ongoing Irani Cup 2024 match against Mumbai. The Bengal batter was dismissed for 191 runs by Mumbai spinner Shams Mulani during the morning session of the fourth day’s play of the match, which is taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The 29-year-old right-handed batter was caught by Tanush Kotian on the first ball of the 103rd over of ROI innings. Before returning back to the pavilion, Easwaran faced a total of 292 balls and, with the help of 16 fours and one six, hammered 191 runs. He added 165 runs for the fifth wicket with Dhruv Jurel, who also missed out on a deserving century.

After getting out for 191 runs, Easwaran was seen losing his cool and slamming his bat in frustration.

The video of Easwaran’s heartbreaking reaction after getting out is now going viral on the internet.

Easwaran, who is yet to play for India, has been in red-hot form these days. He scored centuries in the last two matches of the Duleep Trophy for India B, and now in the one-off Irani Cup match also he scored in three figures.

The right-handed batter was the sixth ROI batter to get out in the first inning, and at the time of his dismissal, the Rest of India team was struggling at 396 for 6. ROI still needs to score 142 runs more to stop Mumbai from taking the lead in the first innings of the match.

Jurel out for 93

Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel, who was released from India’s squad on September 30 to play for ROI in the Irani Cup 2024, scored 93 runs from 121 balls. He was dismissed on the first ball of the 101st over bowled by Mulani. Mumbai wicketkeeper Hardik Tamore completed a brilliant catch of him to help his side end the big partnership.

Jurel challenged the umpire’s decision, but it went against him as there was a clear spike when the ball passed the bat.

Earlier for Mumbai, Sarfaraz Khan hammered 222 runs from 286 balls in the first inning to help them post a big total of 537 runs.
