Australia will be clashing against Afghanistan in their next game at the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The Aussies have been in phenomenal form despite a poor start in the World Cup. The five-time champions had lost their opening games to India and South Africa. They did manage to mount a comeback by winning five of their games on the trot. They took down teams including Pakistan, New Zealand and Sri Lanka in the winning spree. In their last match, the Aussies were able to beat England as Marnush Labuschagne smashed 71 runs to help Australia reach 286 runs. In the second innings, Adam Zampa took three wickets in his 10-over spell while giving away only 21 runs. His heroics were enough to seal the game for the Aussies by 33 runs. They will now be looking to take down Afghanistan as they seek a semi-final spot in the competition.
The two cricket sides will be taking each other on at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Maharashtra on November 7. Afghanistan also had a poor start to their campaign but were able to pull off some miraculous wins in the later stages of the tournament. The Afghans defeated World Cup-winning sides like Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England to remain in contention for the knockout phase. However, taking down Australia is surely going to be one heck of a challenge.
