Remember the young kid from Taare Zameen Par? Darsheel Safary, who portrayed a student with a learning disorder in Aamir Khan’s film, has since made appearances in both cinema and television. In a recent conversation with RJ host Siddharth Kannan, Darsheel Safary opened up about why he never pursued more work with Aamir Khan after his debut movie. The 26-year-old actor also confessed that he tends to get shy and awkward when it comes to such matters and he firmly believes in earning opportunities through his hard work.
Darsheel shared, “I am very shy and get awkward about all these things. I can’t tell you how many times I have been told, ‘Are you in touch with Aamir uncle? Drop him a text, call him, this and that.’ But I feel shy doing this. I don’t know how to put it in words. It should always happen organically.”
He further added, “In fact, after Taare Zameen Par, almost every project that I have done, some way or the other, it has been communicated to Aamir that this is the project that I am working on. It is mostly the case, just to get his blessings.” Darsheel also expressed his eagerness to collaborate on an Aamir Khan movie if he ever gets the opportunity. He said, “I really want to show him what I have become, through his guidance.”
In the film Taare Zameen Par, Darsheel Safary portrayed Ishaan Awasthi, a young boy dealing with dyslexia. Aamir Khan took on the role of Ram Shankar Nikumbh, an art teacher who played a pivotal role in boosting Ishaan’s self-esteem and helping him overcome his dyslexia. The movie garnered widespread acclaim for its sensitive depiction of a child’s challenges with a learning disability and the invaluable support provided by a compassionate teacher.
On the professional front, Darsheel Safary boasts an exciting lineup of projects. He is set to grace the silver screen in director Vinay Bhardwaj’s sports drama, Hukus Bukus. Additionally, audiences can anticipate his presence in Hritik Sanghavi’s upcoming short drama Kashti, where he will share the screen with Lehar Khana and Ishan Saxena. Furthermore, Darsheel is gearing up for an action-packed adventure in Atul Garg’s drama Kashmir – Enigma of Paradise.
Darsheel Safary has ventured into various films, showcasing his versatility as an actor. Some of his notable works include Bumm Bumm Bole, Zokkomon, and Capital A Small A. His most recent appearance was in Kutch Express.
