Recently, in a TikTok video, she shared words of encouragement for young women going through divorce. In this candid video, she shed light on the “positive aspects of going through a divorce in one’s 30s.” Notably, her video coincided with the divorce announcement of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, leading some to speculate that she was offering support to the Game of Thrones star during this challenging time. Drawing from her own experiences, the model mentioned that she had married at the age of 26 and had been separated for over a year.
“There is nothing better than being in your 30s, still being hot, maybe having a little bit of your own money, figuring out what you want to do with your life, everything and having tried that married fantasy and realizing that maybe it’s not all it’s cracked up to be and then you’ve got your whole life ahead of you. So for all those people who are stressed or feeling stressed about that, about being divorced, it’s good. Congratulations,” Emily Ratajkowski added.
Emily filed for divorce from Sebastian Bear-McClard in September 2022. The former couple also shares a 2-year-old son named Sylvester Apollo Bear. In a previous interview with ET, she shared empowering message for women who are going through similar situation.
She said, “I think there’s a lot of taboo around divorce and a lot of shame. I think that isn’t helpful, particularly for young women who are trying to get out of bad relationships. I want to spread a little positivity and I think that divorce, deciding to leave a relationship despite the financial hardship, despite what it’s going to mean for your kids, everything, is really brave. I want women to feel better about it.”
