Emraan Hashmi recently joined the YRF Spy Universe through his role in the Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3. It was Diwali day when the audience got a special treat from the superstar Salman Khan with the release of his much-awaited Tiger 3. As fans showered their love and praises for Salman Khan, Emraan Hashmi who essayed Aatish also received an amazing response from critics and audiences alike.
In a recent interview, Emraan spoke about his equation with Salman and why he doesn’t call him ‘bhai’ like most people. Speaking to Connect FM Canada, Emraan said, “I might not call Salman ‘bhai’ but I take him as a brother, I take him as a friend. So I don’t need to address him that way and go around and tom-tom about it and put a label on him just because other people call him that.”
“Respect doesn’t come from what you say verbally, it comes from your behaviour, you show respect through your actions. I truly believe this and this has been my family’s upbringing. I respect everyone, I don’t, in any way, segregate people on a film set. I respect all equally. It’s thanks to my grounding and my family background,” he added.
As for Tiger 3, the film went on to create records by collecting 188.25 Cr. nett in India, crossing 300 Cr. gross worldwide in just 5 days. Emraan Hashmi revealed that his initial reaction when he received the offer for Tiger 3 was to decline it, considering Tiger is Salman Khan’s franchise. However, he changed his mind when he heard the script. He mentioned, “When I was told that I am being considered for the antagonist in Tiger, there was a fleeting thought that [said] no. Because it’s Salman and it’s Tiger and it’s his brand. But that was only for a fraction of a second. When Maneesh narrated the script and told me about Aatish, I was like this guy is so interesting.”
On the work front, after Tiger 3, Emraan Hashmi is set to play the antagonist in Pawan Kalyan’s Telugu film OG, along with The Last Ride, Ground Zero, Sab First Class and Father’s Day. Additionally, Emraan will also be seen in a web series titled, Showtime.
