Kuch Kuch Hota Hai Turns 25: REAL Reason Why Kajol Skipped Reunion With SRK, Rani, Karan Johar

Kajol was dearly missed at the recent Kuch Kuch Hota Hai reunion. On Sunday night, director Karan Johar reunited with Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji at a theatre in Mumbai. The trio was spotted making their way to meet fans gathered for the special screening of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai that was organised to celebrate the film’s 25 years in Mumbai. SRK and Karan looked handsome in black while Rani stunned in a saree. However, the million dollar question was where is Kajol? Why did she miss it?

Well, the real reason Kajol couldn’t attend the reunion was due to her shoot schedule. The actress is currently shooting for an upcoming project outside Mumbai. The news was confirmed by Shah Rukh during his interaction with fans at the theatre. “Kajol is unfortunately not here because she had to rush to a shooting outdoors. So she said, ‘Please give lots of love to all of you,'” he said. She was a part of the grand 20 years celebrations which took place in 2018.

Kajol played the lead in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The actress essayed the role of Anjali, a tomboy who falls in love with her best friend Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan) but he loves Tina (Rani Mukerji). She eventually gets her happy ending with Rahul. Kajol went on to win Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Shah Rukh also thanked Salman Khan, who couldn’t be a part of the reunion.

Dharma Productions’ official Instagram handle shared a picture of SRK, Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar posing with posters of the film installed at a theatre playing the film. They also shared videos of fans dancing in the theatres.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was released on October 16, 1998. The performances and the songs received much love and appreciation at the time of release and continue to be loved by fans even today.
