Rashmika Mandanna DEFENDS Vijay Deverakonda Film Arjun Reddy: 'Didn't Think It Was Violent'
Rashmika Mandanna weighed in on Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy. The controversial movies were made by Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.

Rashmika Mandanna has weighed in on the criticism against Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s controversial films Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh. Arjun Reddy was released first in Telugu and starred Rashmika’s rumoured boyfriend Vijay Deverakonda. Meanwhile, Kabir Singh was a remake of the same film and it starred Shahid Kapoor in the lead. At the trailer launch of Animal, Rashmika defended the films and backed Vanga in the process.

Rashmika Mandanna On Vijay Deverakonda’s Arjun Reddy:

“When I saw kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy, I didn’t think they were violent films. They were high on intensity. Same is with animal. Sandeep sir is an unapologetic person. People sugarcoat things for the screen, he doesn’t do that,” she said.

Ranbir Kapoor Defends Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh:

Ranbir also defended Kabir Singh and Arjun Reddy in a recent interview. Speaking with Variety, Ranbir called the movies “incredibly powerful”. “Well, to be honest, I was really drawn to the script of Animal. It’s a unique and intense story that immediately caught my attention. As for watching Arjun Reddy or Kabir Singh, I must admit that I did watch both films and found them to be incredibly powerful and impactful. However, my decision to accept Animal was not solely based on those films. It was more about the script, the character, and the opportunity to work with Sandeep Reddy Vanga,” Ranbir said.

He added that his upcoming film, Animal, is not like Animal. Instead, at the trailer launch, Ranbir joked that Animal is like an adult version of Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum.

About Animal:

Animal marks Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s first movie together. Besides the two, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles. According to the film’s teaser, Ranbir’s character’s attachment leads him on the path of becoming a gangster, eventually coming to face with his nemesis, played by Bobby Deol. Anil Kapoor plays Ranbir’s father in this movie. Directed by Sandeep Vanga Reddy, Animal will hit theatres on December 1 and will clash at the box office with Vicky Kaushal’s Sam Bahadur.
