Samantha Ruth Prabhu left everyone jaw-dropped and set the internet on fire after Oo Antava song from the film Pushpa was released. Her sizzling avatar dance moves and new avatar had left everyone gasping for breath. But do you know how much Samantha had charged for the song? On Thursday, paparazzo handle Viral Bhayani took to its Instagram handle, dropped a video of the actress and revealed that Samantha charged a whooping amount of Rs 5 crore for the song.
“DYK: Samantha charged 5 crores for hot song in Pushpa,” the paparazzo wrote.
While News18 Showsha cannot confirm the authenticity of the claim, it should be noted that this is not the first time that this has been reported. Earlier this year too, a source cited by IWMBUZZ claimed that Samantha was paid Rs 5 crores for that 3-minute song.
“Oh, she has charged a bomb for the Oo Antava dance number. Believe me, she was very reluctant. The film’s leading man Allu Arjun personally took the effort to convince her. They had to pay her close to Rs 5 crores for that 3-minute dance number. She had some reservations about some of the dance movements. But gradually she got into the groove and didn’t demand that even one step to be changed,” the source claimed.
Released in December 2021, Pushpa: The Rise starred Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead. The film was a massive hit not only in the Telugu-speaking regions but also across other parts of India. Currently, Allu Arjun is working on Pushpa 2 aka Pushpa: The Rule. It was earlier said that the film is likely to hit theatres in December 2023. However, it was recently announced that Pushpa 2 will be released on August 15, 2024.
Samantha, on the other hand, will soon be seen in the Indian version of Citadel which also stars Varun Dhawan. It is helmed by Raj and DK and the team is staying tight-lipped about its plot.
