Video Of Man Travelling With Bicycle In Mumbai Metro Goes Viral
A recent viral video captured a strange incident in Mumbai, showcasing a man, taking his bicycle onto a Metro train during peak hours.

In the bustling city of Mumbai, where the daily grind is synonymous with crowded local trains and congested roadways, the Mumbai Metro has long been celebrated as a promising solution to the city’s ever-growing transportation woes. However, a recent viral video that has taken the internet into overdrive captured a notable incident in Mumbai, showcasing a man named, Harshit Anurag, taking his bicycle onto a Metro train during peak hours. Shared by the man himself on his Instagram account, the video illustrated Harshit Anurag entering the Metro station with his bicycle and purchasing a ticket before smoothly ascending the escalator to the platform.

Subsequently, he securely parked his bicycle in the allocated space, where it stood upright, and settled on a foldable seat adjacent to it. Upon reaching his destination, the man de-boarded from the Metro and swiftly resumed cycling on the platform.

Take a look at the video here:

Accompanying the video, Harshit Anurag shared his “exhilarating experience” in the caption. He opened up about the “perfect blend of urban exploration and fitness.” “Cycling through the bustling streets of Mumbai and combining it with a ride on the Metro is an exhilarating experience. Navigating the city’s traffic and seamlessly transitioning to the Metro stations with your bike is a unique adventure. You get to explore different parts of the city, soak in the local culture, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere,” the man wrote.

As soon as the clip surfaced online, social media users swamped the comment section with contrasting reactions. Witnesses during the incident described a mixture of bemusement, frustration, and admiration for the man’s persistence. While some lauded the man’s ingenuity, applauding his resourcefulness in finding an alternative means of transportation for his bicycle, others criticised the audacity of his actions, citing potential safety concerns and the inconvenience caused to fellow passengers.

Furthermore, concerns were raised about the potential damage the bicycle might cause to the train’s interiors and the risks associated with impeding the smooth flow of commuter traffic within the train compartments.

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “Bro was serious about using this metro feature.” Another commented, “Actually taking it from the escalator is not allowed, you have to use the lift. Station and lift are designed accordingly for carrying the cycle.”

“Bro is literally transporting a transporting vehicle into a transporting vehicle for transport,” an Instagram user wrote.

A social media buff commented, “This is how we transition to a sustainable transport system.”

The video was shared a week ago on Instagram. Since its posting, it has garnered an impressive one million plus views. Additionally, the clip has collected over one lakh likes with numerous comments.

Metro authorities have clarified that the provision to carry bicycles aboard a Metro train is currently restricted to the yellow line 2A and red line 7. This regulation serves as a specific guideline for commuters considering integrating cycling with their public transportation journeys, providing valuable insight into the available options within the Metro network.
