After an incredible streak at the ICC World Cup 2023, team India lost the final match against Australia, as they chased down a score of 240 in 43 overs at Narendra Modi stadium, leaving billions heartbroken.
Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli are now back in Mumbai. The couple was spotted at the private airport in Mumbai. Virat looked smart in a black t-shirt and light blue denims and a beige cap, while Anushka was resplendent in an off-white salwar suit. They both seemed to be in a grim mood and also avoided posing for the paps. Virat, however, did acknowledge them, as paps called out to him saying, “well played”. They greeted their staff members and quickly made their way to the car. Anushka’s mother was also spotted. Check out the video here:
Post the match, Anushka was seen consoling Virat Kohli. In a photo shared on Twitter, now known as X, Anushka was seen hugging a heartbroken Virat after the match. Anushka was seen in the stands with other family members of the Indian cricket team, supporting Virat during the match. Among them was also the Bollywood star Athiya Shetty, wife of KL Rahul, who has been a pillar for her husband throughout the tournament.
Hours before Virat and Anushka were reunited, a video from the match’s final few overs surfaced online showing a disappointed Anushka sitting in the stands. The actress was seen fighting back her tears while she waited for the match to end.
Virat performed exceptionally well in the tournament, scoring a half-century in the World Cup final and breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record for the most centuries. In the semi-finals against New Zealand, he made history with a century, becoming the only cricketer in ODI history with 50 centuries. Virat was named the Player of the Tournament for his outstanding performance.
