Watch: IU Drops First Teaser For New Single Love Wins

South Korean singer Lee Ji-eun, better known as IU has dropped the teaser of her upcoming pre-release single titled Love Wins on January 14. The 30-year-old who took an almost 2-year-long sabbatical from her work commitments will make her return with this new song. The much-anticipated single is scheduled for release on January 24. Along with the sweet surprise, IU also joined the short-form video streaming service TikTok, ahead of her title release.

The haunting teaser of Love Wins shows IU’s half-face under an eerie red light. As the camera zooms in on one of her eyes, the singer can be seen shedding a tear. The name of the song’s title and its premiere date also feature in the cryptic visual clip. Although not much is known about the upcoming track, the visuals have definitely become the talk of the town, amongst IU’s fans.

Social media users were quick to express their excitement regarding the upcoming song. While one individual noted, “How long has it been since I felt this excitement when the teaser was released? I’m looking forward to January 24th," another quipped, “The queen is coming back." “I can’t wait to hear your voice…the way you sing it and your feelings," commented a third IU admirer. Others showed their support by dropping numerous red heart emojis.

On X (formerly known as Twitter) IU announced that she was now on TikTok. “(NOTICE), IU (IU) OFFICIAL TIKTOK OPEN. IU’s TikTok channel has been opened! Thank you for your love," she wrote along with adding her account link to the post.

Reacting to the announcement, one IU fan commented, “Omg omg yess!!! CAN WE EXPECT MORE TIKTOK COLLAB WITH OTHER IDOLS?" “Can’t wait for the challenge with Taehyung and Suga," expressed another enthusiastic user. “Welcome my idol," read one more comment.

IU has also collaborated with South Korean boyband member V, reports both their agencies, EDAM Entertainment and BigHit Music respectively. As per a report by EDAM Entertainment, IU has already finished shooting the music video featuring V. Later on, Big Hit Music revealed that the news was “correct". The song will be out sometime this year.
