Yuzvendra Chahal wished the duo “Congratulations”, followed by a red heart emoji. Axar Patel also dropped a hearty “congratulations”. India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant poured down several red heart emojis in the comments section on the special moment. Pant is currently on the road to recovery after being involved in a road accident while returning from Delhi to Uttarakhand last year.

South African cricketer, David Miller was also amongst the well-wishers. He wrote, “Congrats to you two!”
The official Instagram account for the Indian Premier League (IPL) Franchise Gujarat Titans congratulated both him and his wife at the beautiful moment. They wrote “Heartiest congratulations Rahul Tewatia and Ridhi Tewatia and welcome to the newest member of our GT family”
Rahul Tewatia had a rather lack-lustre 2023, which saw him score only 87 runs in IPL 2023. Tewatia is much renowned for his heroics in the ninth fixture of IPL 2020 when he smashed five sixes in a single over against Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings).
Off to a poor chase during the opening stages of the second innings, Tewatia rescued the game for his then-franchise Rajasthan Royals by smashing 30 runs against Sheldon Cottrell in the 18th over. This helped them overcome Punjab’s massive total of 223 runs, securing a victory by four wickets. Tewatia repeated another such feat in the 16th T20 game of the 2022 IPL campaign after smashing two sixes in the last two deliveries to secure a six-wicket victory for Gujarat Titans against Punjab.

Despite making some significant impact in the IPL, Rahul Tewatia has not been able to secure a place in the Indian Cricket Team. It will be interesting to see if the all-rounder is called up by the national team in the near future.
