Guwahati: Opposition Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Monday released its manifesto for the April Assembly polls in Assam promising a development-oriented and corruption-free government.
Releasing the manifesto here, AGP chief Chandra Mohan Patowary said the party was committed to remove corruption from all levels if voted to power.
"We are committed to fulfilling the aspirations of the people the ruling Congress has betrayed the state on the diktats of New Delhi-based politicians who have little knowledge about the state," he said.
"If voted to power the AGP will take steps to correct the law and order situation and bring back development", he said.
Voicing opposition to construction of big dams in Arunachal Pradesh which might have adverse downstream effect in the state, Patowary alleged that Congress had succumbed to a lobby of businessmen at the Centre who are out to harm the
interest of the people of the state.
