Arvind Kejriwal Says He Should Get Nobel Prize For His Work As Delhi CM

Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday made a bold statement by saying that he deserves a ‘Nobel Prize’ for his governance in the national capital due to the conflict between the two governments.

The Delhi leader targeted the opposition and said that he should get praises for the construction of schools and for providing world-class education to the poor.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) tried to stop the construction of schools and hospitals in Delhi. They do not want the poor to get the same level of education as their children. Only I know, how am I running the government in Delhi, I should get a Nobel prize for this,” news agency ANI quoted Kejriwal as saying.

The Delhi chief minister also slammed the Centre for attempting to stop the implementation of the one-time settlement of the pending water bills adding that the government officials refused to take orders from the AAP government due to the fear of the Centre.

“Delhi Jal Board has passed the scheme. Now this scheme has to be passed in the cabinet. BJP asked Delhi LG to stop this scheme. Officers have been threatened, they are crying…When Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi called the officers to ask why they were not bringing the bill, the officers said that we have been threatened that if this scheme came to the cabinet, they would be suspended. Just like Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are in jail, you will also put officers in jail by filing false cases of ED, CBI,” he said.

Reacting to Kejriwal’s remarks, AAP leader Sandeep Pathak said that BJP is looking for opportunities to implicate the AAP supremo as they are threatened by his work.

“From the day the AAP government was formed in Delhi, BJP has been looking for opportunities to implicate Arvind Kejriwal. BJP is irritated with the fact that the people of Delhi are choosing AAP as their government. Delhi government wants to bring a one-time settlement program for water bills. BJP has nothing to do with it,” he told ANI.

On Friday, AAP MLAs had protested in the Delhi Assembly against the alleged stalling of the scheme by the BJP, forcing the adjournment of the House.

The AAP MLAs tore and tossed copies of the “inflated” water bills inside the House and later burnt copies of the bills near the Gandhi statue in the assembly complex.
