5. Asifabad is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Telangana and is part of Adilabad Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Asifabad falls in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district and North Telangana region of Telangana. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,72,287 voters in the seat, which includes 86,909 male voters, and 85,340 female voters. In the 2018 Telangana elections, Asifabad recorded a voter turnout of 86%. In 2014 the turnout was 76.97%.
In 2014, Kova Laxmi of TRS won the seat by a margin of 19,055 (13.01%). Kova Laxmi secured 40.35% of the total votes polled.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, TRS led in the Asifabad Assembly segment of the Adilabad Parliamentary/Lok Sabha constituency.
