202. Badnawar is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Dhar (ST) Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Badnawar falls in Dhar district and Malwa Tribal region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,94,687 voters in the seat, which includes 97,877 male voters, and 96,810 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Badnawar recorded a voter turnout of 85.48%. In 2013 the turnout was 81.46%, and in 2008 it was 79.62%.
In 2013, Bhanvarsingh Shekhawat of BJP won the seat by a margin of 9,812 votes (6.67%). Bhanvarsingh Shekhawat secured 50.09% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 15,142 votes (13.97%), registering 51.09% of the total votes polled.
