42. Banda is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Damoh Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Banda falls in Sagar district and Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 2,17,730 voters in the seat, which includes 1,16,565 male voters, and 1,01,163 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Banda recorded a voter turnout of 74.48%. In 2013 the turnout was 69.51%, and in 2008 it was 67.38%.
In 2013, Harvansh (Sukku Bhaiya) of BJP won the seat by a margin of 17,880 votes (12.13%). Harvansh (Sukku Bhaiya) secured 44.91% of the total votes polled.
INC won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 1,925 votes (1.7%), registering 28.54% of the total votes polled.
