New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday complained to the Election Commission against the Uttar Pradesh government, alleging it was harassing its cadre in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections.
A delegation of the party lead by party Vice-President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi gave a written complaint to the Commission in New Delhi.
The saffron party in a separate complaint has alleged that the station in-charge of Police Station Pitvayi in Rampur of was also harassing party workers on the pretext of the Model Code of Conduct.
"The commission gave us a patient hearing and instructed the District Magistrate of Rampur to look into the matter urgently," Naqvi said.
