BJP, Shiv Sena to jointly campaign in Maharashtra
BJP's Gopinath Munde says the two parties have common manifesto.

New Delhi: Ironing out their differences, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena on Tuesday announced they would begin joint campaigning in Maharashtra for the Lok Sabha polls on March 20.

BJP general secretary Gopinath Munde said that party chief Rajnath Singh and Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackrey would start canvassing together.

"We will have a common manifesto, common programme and will have a common campaign," Munde told reporters.

Asked about the Shiv Sena's demand for a Marathi prime minister, Munde said, "These are old issues; there is no problem now. The Shiv Sena supports the candidature of LK Advani as prime ministerial candidate of the NDA (National Democratic Alliance)."

The BJP will contest elections in 26 constituencies in Maharashtra and the Shiv Sena on 22. The BJP on Tuesday finalised its candidates for 11 seats.

"We have finalised candidates on 11 seats, it includes my seat Beed. The rest will be decided in a couple of days," Munde added.
