CBI raids ex-governor, BJP leader over appointments in Bokaro Steel
A case of illegal appointment in Bokaro Steel Ltd is registered in Dhanbad anti-corruption bureau of CBI.

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday conducted raids in Bhopal, Delhi and Ranchi in connection with illegal appointment of relatives of politicians in Bokaro Steel Ltd.

The raids were conducted at former Jharkhand Governor Syed Sibtey Razi and two others - BJP Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh Satyanarayan Jatiya and retired Ranchi HC Judge DGR Patnaik.

A case of illegal appointments in Bokaro is registered in Dhanbad anti-corruption bureau (ACB) of CBI.

The first case has been registered under section 120-B IPC r/w 420, 468 & 471 IPC and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 against the then Executive Director and seven other officials (working/retired) of Bokaro Steel Plant/SAIL. The second case has been registered under section 120-B IPC r/w 420, 468 and 471 IPC and Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988, against then Managing Director and fourteen (working/retired) officials of Bokaro Steel Plant, Bokaro.

It has been alleged that around 13 candidates were favoured and got selected for the posts of middle management/junior management level at Bokaro Steel Plant by adopting fraudulent recruitment and selection process.
