The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday alleged that the BJP-led central government is conspiring to arrest Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the alleged excise policy scam ahead of the Supreme Court’s hearing on his bail plea in the ED’s money laundering case,
AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh alleged that the CBI might register a fake case against the CM to arrest him.
“At a time when there is a cent per cent possibility that Arvind Kejriwal will get bail from the Supreme Court, sources have informed me that the Centre is conspiring to register a fake CBI case against the Delhi CM and get him arrested by the CBI. The entire nation can see this and is standing in solidarity with Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had sought permission to interrogate Kejriwal in Tihar Jail last week. The CM was examined by the CBI in Tihar Jail on Monday.
The CBI on Tuesday moved an application before a special court seeking productiong warrants for Kejriwal. The court has issued the warrants and the CM will be produced before the court on Wednesday. The agency has told the court that it has found fresh material against Kejriwal.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi High Court stayed the trial court’s order granting bail to Kejriwal in the money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam.
The Delhi High Court said the trial court’s order “reflects perversity” and held that the lower court did not “appropriately appreciate” the material placed before it by the Enforcement Directorate.
The trial court had granted bail to Kejriwal on June 20 in the money laundering case stemming from the alleged Delhi excise policy scam and ordered his release on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh.
The Delhi excise policy was scrapped in 2022 after the lieutenant governor ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged irregularities and corruption involving its formulation and execution.
According to the CBI and the ED, irregularities were committed while modifying the excise policy and undue favours extended to the licence holders.
