New Delhi: A group of senior BJP leaders is expected to meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday. Leaders like LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj, Arun Jaitley and Murli Manohar Joshi are likely to build pressure on the UPA government over its demands related to coal block allocation.
The BJP has been defiantly demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and an impartial probe into the matter.
The Congress on Tuesday had dared the BJP for a debate in a public forum on the coal controversy but refrained from coming to the defence of party MPs who are facing the heat for alleged irregularities in coal block allocation.
"We are ready to discuss it in any public forum. Let BJP come forward if it has confidence. We can debate in any public forum and the truth will come out. People of the country will decide whose faces are blackened with coal," Congress spokesperson Manish Tewari said.
