Cong has always adopted a soft approach towards Naxalism: BJP
JP Nadda added that the "entire Congress is confused" about handling the problem.

New Delhi: BJP on Thursday hit back at Congress accusing it of "always adopting" a soft approach on Naxalism and said the entire party was confused on the issue of tackling the problem. Under attack over killing of Congress leaders in Chhattisgarh, BJP also rejected suggestions that the Raman Singh government and Maoists in Chhattisgarh were working closely to serve each other's purpose, saying Congress leaders who have made these irresponsible statements are "not in their senses".

BJP General Secretary in charge of Chhattisgarh JP Nadda said Congress itself was facing "internal disputes" in the state unit. "There are talks there about who was present and who was not (in the Parivartan rally), who came first, who came late and who survived and who got caught (in the attack)...It is not appropriate for me to make a comment," he told reporters, adding these issues are part of the terms of reference of the judicial probe.

He said in the coming days, BJP will expose people who have a soft approach towards Naxals, but project themselves as if they are against Naxalites. "These are people with double standards," he said. He claimed that after 76 CRPF personnel were killed in Dantewada, then Home Minister P Chidambaram had promised support to the state government.

"Based on that assurance, the state government took action. Then came a statement by (Congress leader) Digvijay Singh criticising the Home Minister. It was supported by (Congress President) Sonia Gandhi," he said, adding that development had hurt the state government's actions against Naxals. "How can people like these be honest towards checking Naxalism," he said, adding that "entire Congress is confused" in handling the problem.
