New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy hit back at Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar for his comments on BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi saying that nothing better could be expected from the Congress.
Aiyar in an unseemly manner targeted Modi by saying, "He can never be the Prime Minister of our nation, he can never be. However, if he wants, we could arrange a tea stall for him here," he said.
Rudy said that Aiyar's statements were against the sentiments of the common man. "The Congress is all out to demean a state's Chief Minister, nothing better is expected from Congress. Such statements are hurting the sentiments of the common man. He did work in his father's shop," he said.
Cautioning Congress over such statements, Rudy added that "Such a language is only going to harm the Congress party."
Over the debate over Congress's denial to name party vice president Rahul Gandhi as their prime ministerial candidate, Rudy said that their defeat in the upcoming elections was certain. "There is no point positioning him now because their defeat is certain," he said.
